Step Into Italy’s Greatest Summer Holiday Right Here in Little Italy
Convivio, a San Diego nonprofit dedicated to celebrating Italian culture and intercultural experiences, is bringing one of Italy’s most treasured summer traditions to Little Italy.
Ferragosto: Sotto Le Stelle – “under the stars” – is a full evening of live music, food, and the kind of easy, communal atmosphere that defines the Italian midsummer holiday. It’s the sort of night that doesn’t need much explaining – just show up, settle in, and let it carry you through.

A Holiday Rooted in Ancient Rome
Ferragosto is observed every August and traces its origins to Feriae Augusti, a period of rest and festivity declared by Emperor Augustus for the Roman people.
The holiday has endured for centuries and remains one of Italy’s most deeply observed – a national pause filled with outdoor meals, live music, seaside escapes, and long evenings with family and friends.
Convivio brings that same warmth and ease to San Diego, in the neighborhood that feels most ready for it.
Four Artists, One Stage
The evening opens with a social hour before four artists take the stage: Sacha Boutros, Salvador Padilla, Pietro Rizzi, and Iris Moné. It’s a lineup shaped to carry the night – music that brings people together and lets the evening build at its own pace.
Celebrate, Connect, and Give Back
Tickets start at $65 and include heavy appetizers, a beverage of choice (cocktail, wine, or beer), and the full live entertainment experience.
Proceeds support Convivio’s cultural programs, scholarships, and year-round efforts to preserve Italian heritage in San Diego – through education, community partnerships, and cultural events.
