Wine Wednesday Gets a Major Upgrade at Solare Ristorante
Edible San Diego’s Wine Wednesday is happening this week, and we’re always down for a good wine night, especially when it involves local vintners, Italian cuisine, and one of Liberty Station’s most beloved spots. Count us in for what’s shaping up to be something special during San Diego Wine Week.

What Makes This Night Different
Edible San Diego knows how to throw a wine event, and partnering with the San Diego County Vintners Association for this exclusive tasting at Solare Ristorante feels like the perfect match.
We’re talking about four local wineries showcasing their best while executive chef Denice Grande creates Italian pairings that’ll make your taste buds sing.
The lineup includes Charlie & Echo, Oddish Wine, Mia Maria Vineyards, and Valentina Vineyards—each bringing something unique to the table. What we love most is getting to meet the actual winemakers behind these bottles.
There’s something about hearing their stories while sipping their creations that makes the whole experience more meaningful.
The Food Situation
Solare’s menu for the evening reads like a love letter to Italian cuisine. There’ll be housemade focaccia (because obviously), caprese skewers for our vegetarian friends, and frittura with calamari that’ll transport you straight to the Mediterranean coast.
The Tuscan-style lamb chops sound incredible, and don’t even get us started on the chocolate and caramel mousse finale.
Chef Denice Grande and owner Randy Smerik have curated these pairings specifically for the evening, so you know each bite is designed to complement the wines perfectly.
