The Forum Carlsbad’s Halloween Spooktacular Brings the Tricks and Treats
If you’re still mapping out your Halloween weekend plans, The Forum Carlsbad just made the decision easier. Their annual Halloween Spooktacular is coming back this month, and it’s shaping up to be one of the better family-friendly options in North County.
Three hours of activities, characters, and candy across the entire outdoor shopping center—all completely free.

Trick-or-Treating Without the Neighborhood Walk
The main draw here is center-wide trick-or-treating at participating retailers and restaurants. Instead of hitting up houses, families can wander through the shopping center while kids collect candy in their Halloween totes (one per child, while supplies last).
It’s a solid alternative for families who want the trick-or-treating experience without committing to a full evening route or dealing with unpredictable weather.

Character Meet-and-Greets Throughout
Beyond the candy collection, The Forum is bringing in some recognizable Halloween faces. Kids can meet a magical wizard, pose with Sally and Jack Skellington, and check out the Sanderson Sisters’ Haunted Cauldron for photos.
These character encounters are usually the moments that stick with kids long after the candy’s gone, so it’s worth planning your route to hit the major photo ops.

Live Entertainment and Games
The event also includes live performances and carnival-style games scattered throughout the center. We’re not talking elaborate setups here—just straightforward, kid-friendly activities that keep the afternoon moving.
It’s the kind of programming that works well for mixed-age groups where some kids want to run around while others are content people-watching.

See you there!
Costumes are encouraged, so break out whatever’s been hanging in the closet and head over for an afternoon that checks all the Halloween boxes.
