Some bands slow down after 50 years. George Thorogood & The Destroyers just booked a bigger tour. Since 1976 they’ve logged more than 8,000 live shows and sold 15 million albums, and now they’re rolling through San Diego with The Baddest Show on Earth.
Five Decades, Still Bad to the Bone
If you’ve ever cranked “Bad to the Bone” with the windows down, you already know the assignment. That anthem turns 44 in 2026, and the band is treating the whole thing like a party that hasn’t peaked yet.
Expect the catalog that made them a rock and roll institution: “Get a Haircut,” “I Drink Alone,” “One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer,” and “Move It On Over.”
This is loud, loose, unapologetic bar rock played by the people who wrote the book on it, and Humphreys’ spot right on the bay makes it the kind of summer night you’ll be talking about for a while.
Blues Royalty Opens the Night
Before Thorogood takes over, The Robert Cray Band sets the tone. Cray is a genuine blues heavyweight, and he’s bringing the songs that earned it: “Smoking Gun,” “Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark,” “Right Next Door,” and “The Forecast.”
It’s a rare double bill where the opener could headline anywhere, so show up early and settle in.
