Alright dance lovers, it’s officially holiday magic season! As usual, our fabulous Golden State Ballet is decking the Civic Theatre’s halls through Christmas Eve with a sparkling production of everyone’s favorite fairy tale ballet—The Nutcracker.
The Nutcracker. Clara. Mouse King. Sugarplum Fairies.
You know the enchanting story—young Clara and her heroic Nutcracker Prince whisking us off on an exhilarating adventure through the glistening Land of Sweets. But this show takes the reverie up a notch with dazzling new choreography from Artistic Director Raul Salamanca and lavish costumes guaranteed to stun.
Gather up your dance-loving crew because you won’t want to miss seeing two dozen professional dancers plus dozens of the Ballet’s talented academy students bring this holiday spectacle to life. And they’ll all be pirouetting on stage to live music from the acclaimed San Diego Symphony!
There’s nothing that spreads quintessential holiday magic quite like experiencing the visionary Tchaikovsky score blasting from a full orchestra as these virtuosic performers sail through pieces like the “Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy.” It’s goosebumps territory!

Secure your place under the spell during The Nutcracker’s 10-show run at the San Diego Civic Theatre from December 15 to 24. Bring out your finery and make a festive night of it! This show promises to kick that holiday spirit into high gear San Diego style.
