San Diego doesn’t get a lot of snow, so Gallagher Square at Petco Park brings its own. The sixth annual Holiday Wonderland returns on select nights with a bigger lineup of Christmas lights, rides, and winter fun right in the heart of downtown.

It’s a family-friendly holiday outing that has plenty to do for kids, couples, and big groups of friends. Come for the snow, stay for the lights, and leave with a few new holiday memories.

Sledding, Snowfall, and Snowy Fun

The star attraction is the snow. Sled down a hill made with real snow, and enjoy a nightly snowfall that adds a flurry to the evening. For many San Diego kids, it’s the closest they’ll get to a white Christmas, so bring warm layers.

Sledding is included with admission, so you can go back down as many times as the line allows, and the flurries keep falling while you wait your turn.

A 40-Foot Tree Lights the Way

Dazzling Christmas light displays fill Gallagher Square, including walk-through displays and a beautifully decorated 40-foot Christmas tree. It’s the kind of scenery that begs for photos, whether you’re with the kids or on a holiday date night.

Take your time wandering, because there’s a new glow around every corner. Snap a few pictures before the snow starts to fall, and you’ll have holiday cards ready to go.

Carousel Spins and Christmas Train Rides

Rides and games are part of the fun, and they’re all included with admission. Take a spin on the grand carousel, hop on the Christmas train, and try your luck at the carnival games.

You can also meet Santa and other holiday characters, so the kids get their moment too. With everything included, you can move from one attraction to the next without worrying about extra tickets.

Shop Local and Sip Something Festive

Browse local artisan shops for gifts you won’t find anywhere else, and warm up with festive drinks and seasonal treats. On select nights, live entertainment and stage performances take over the Sycuan Stage in Gallagher Square.
