San Diego’s philanthropic social calendar has a highlight this spring, and it’s a good one. The Junior League of San Diego is hosting its annual spring fundraiser – “Party for a Purpose: Jewels of the Cosmos” – and the venue alone is worth clearing your schedule for.
An Evening at the Air & Space Museum
The San Diego Air & Space Museum in Balboa Park is the backdrop for this year’s event, and it’s hard to think of a more fitting setting for a galaxy-inspired evening.
More than 300 folks will gather among exhibits that celebrate human achievement, all in the name of a cause that hits close to home: combating food insecurity right here in San Diego.
The evening kicks off with dinner, dancing, live entertainment, a silent auction, raffle prizes, and a paddle raise all on the agenda. Whether we’re raising paddles or hitting the dance floor, every dollar raised goes directly toward supporting the Junior League’s community work.
What’s on Offer
There are two ticket tiers to choose from, and both deliver a proper night out. Here’s what each one includes:
- General Admission ($100): Dinner, dessert, dancing, live entertainment, a silent auction, raffle, and the paddle raise.
- VIP ($150): Everything in General Admission, plus a welcome drink, reserved table seating, exclusive access inside the museum and Ripley’s Believe It or Not! exhibit, with the option to add a flight simulator experience.
The Mission Behind the Night
The Junior League of San Diego has been part of this city’s fabric since 1929, with a focus on advancing women’s leadership and tackling food insecurity through hands-on community involvement. This event is their biggest fundraiser of the year, and every dollar raised stays right here in San Diego.
