Sold Out, Again! Karl Strauss Brewing’s ‘Changing of the Barrels’ Party
February 2, 1989 marks the first day Karl Strauss Brewing Company first opened their doors in San Diego and introduced the city to craft beer.
Each February, to honor the occasion, they throw a fete at the brewery for the debut of their annual Barrel-Aged Anniversary release and a chance to taste the next year’s batch before it spends a year in barrels.
The 2017 “Changing of the Barrels” 28th Anniversary Celebration is going down on Saturday, January 28th with unlimited pours of 25+ special release and small batch beers, comfort food with a gourmet twist from Mastiff Sausage Company, live music from Juicebox, commemorative glassware and more.
The party is gonna be epic. And that’s why it sells out way in advance, every time. But, mark your calendars for early February and catch them for next year’s Changing of the Barrels!
