Your Saturday Just Got a Plan – The Kensington Spring Walkabout is Back
If you haven’t explored Kensington in a while – or ever – the 8th Annual Kensington Spring Walkabout is the perfect reason to change that. This is one of those rare free community events where everything just comes together: good weather, live music, treats, and a neighborhood that genuinely rewards a slow stroll.

Start at the Park, Explore From There
Check in at the KTBA booth in Kensington Library Park to grab your event map and stamp card, then head out at your own pace. The walkabout winds through Kensington Village, where participating local businesses are rolling out the welcome mat with giveaways, samples, and special surprises for everyone who stops in.
It’s a low-key, pick-your-own-adventure kind of afternoon. Go in order, bounce around, grab a coffee, circle back for seconds – there are no rules.
Jazz in the Park
While you’re in the park, the Young Lions Jazz Conservatory will be performing throughout the afternoon. These are talented young musicians who bring real energy to the stage, and having live jazz as your backdrop while you hang out in the sun is about as San Diego as it gets.

Something for Everyone
Families, couples, solo explorers – this event is built for all of us. There’s a professional photographer on site capturing the day, so there’s a decent chance you’ll end up in the recap content.
Beyond the walkabout itself, an opportunity drawing has some genuinely great prizes: a mug club membership at Mission Brewing, a gift card to River & Pearl Beauty Bar, personal training sessions, fine wine, local artwork, and more. Pick up your entry at the event.

Who’s Participating
The business lineup includes Aging123, Author Audrey Steidl, Copley-Price Family YMCA, Dynasty Dance Co., Edward Jones, Farmers Insurance, Friends of Franklin Foundation, and GEM Coffee.
Also on the map: Kensington Talmadge Community Association, COMPASS Real Estate, Mercer Group Real Estate, Mission Brewing, Ponce’s Mexican Restaurant, and River & Pearl Beauty Bar.
Rounding out the list are Sanalytics, Science Fitness, Studio Stratton, Susan Tutors, The Haven Pizzeria, and Artist Vira Ustianska – with treats, giveaways, and special offers waiting at each stop.
See you there!
Whether you’re a longtime Kensington local or just discovering the neighborhood, this is a fun way to spend a Saturday afternoon. No agenda required, just show up and explore.
