Shop Local Art at Kilowatt Brewing’s Wednesday Night Art Market

Ocean Beach has a Wednesday routine, and it doesn’t end when the farmers market packs up. Kilowatt Brewing hands its Ocean Beach taproom over to local artists for the evening, which turns the walk home into a browse.

Tables of original work, a beer in hand, and a room full of people who made the thing they’re selling.

Kilowatt Brewing Wednesday Night Art Market

Band Paintings, Original Shirts, and Pins Worth Digging Through

The through line is local. Artists bring paintings of San Diego bands, plus original designs printed on shirts and hats. If you’ve been to a show around here lately, there’s a decent chance something on the table looks familiar.

Past that, the rest of the space fills in with decor, stickers, prints, and pins. It’s the kind of small stuff that ends up on a jacket, a laptop lid, or the front of the fridge by Friday, and it’s easy to walk out with more than you came for.

Three Hours to Meet the Artists Behind the Work

The market runs three hours, which is enough time to make a full lap, get a beer, and circle back for the one piece you kept thinking about. No rush, no line, no reason to decide in the first ten minutes.

Buying straight from the artist also changes the transaction. Ask about the band in the painting or where a design came from, and you get a real answer instead of a price tag.

Let the Farmers Market Run Straight Into the Art Market

Kilowatt’s pitch is a simple one. If you’re already out at the market, come by after and see what landed on the tables this week.

That’s the shape of a good Wednesday in OB. Produce first, art second, beer somewhere in the middle. You come out for one thing, stay for another, and leave with a print you had no plans to buy.
