Lemuria
Indie rockers Lemuria formed in 2004 the band have toured tirelessly over the last few years and have built up a strong fan base in the US and are slowly becoming more well known in the UK and Europe. Their influences include bands such as Jawbreaker, Superchunk and The Wipers. Despite a hectic touring schedule, the band show no signs of slowing until they have conquered the earth or pass out from exhaustion, whichever comes first.
Their sound is gritty and raw which contrasts with the almost infantile vocal of lead singer Sheena Ozzella. It’s sort of Paramore meets The Subways and sits somewhere within the middle ground. Loyal fans continue to pack out their shows to hear cult hits such as ‘Dog’ and ‘Lipstick’ performed with the live enthusiasm the band are now known for. Now touring their latest LP ‘The Distance Is So Big’ which went down great with fans, new tracks such as ‘Clay Baby’ are receiving the same big reaction as some of the older classics.
They’re setting off on a huge headline tour again this fall and for any fans of indie rock with bite, they are not to be missed.
