Shop 150 Local Makers on the Broadway Pier This Holiday Season
The Broadway Pier spends most of the year handling cruise ships. For one weekend this holiday season, it hands the deck over to more than 150 local makers, a hot cocoa bar, and a wreath-building station.
The Makers Arcade Holiday Fair is back for its 12th year, and it is still the largest handmade shopping festival in San Diego. Presented with the Port of San Diego, it is a full day out that happens to solve your gift list.
150 Makers Between You and Your Gift List
More than 150 local and regional makers, emerging brands, and artists set up along the pier, which means you are buying directly from the person who made the thing. Ceramics, jewelry, prints, candles, apparel, and plenty you will not find at a mall.
This is the part we would plan around. Give yourself more time than you think you need, because the good booths are always the ones you circle back to.
Hot Cocoa, Fresh Wreaths, and a Scorecard to Fill
Live music runs through the day, interactive art installations are set up across the pier, and gourmet food trucks handle lunch. A hot cocoa bar takes care of the kids. Festive cocktails and mocktails take care of everyone else.
At the Make + Take craft area, you build your own fresh holiday wreath and carry it home. Collect points on a scorecard as you shop, then cash them in for a free gift at the prize booth.
Stay Past Closing for the Parade of Lights
On the second day, the Fair keeps its doors open after regular hours so you can watch the Parade of Lights float right past the Pier. There is no better seat in the city for it.
You are already on the water, already holding something warm, and the boats come to you. Plan the rest of your evening around it.
