Set Sail for Midway’s Fright Deck Halloween Party
Calling all pirates, ghosts, ghouls, and creatures of the deep. This Halloween, gather your crew and step aboard the USS Midway Museum for Fright Deck: Halloween Party & Movie Night.
It’s a swashbuckling evening of family-friendly Halloween fun high above San Diego Bay, and a nautical twist you won’t find anywhere else in the city.

Costumes, Dancing, and a Treasure Hunt
Before the moon rises and the movie begins, the flight deck comes alive with a live DJ spinning tunes for a proper monster mash, plus a Halloween costume contest with cash prizes up for grabs.
Whatever your Halloween style, pirates, princesses, ghosts, or superheroes, come dressed to impress: the night features two costume categories, a Family/Group Costume Contest for parties of two or more, and a “Best of the Best” Individual Costume Contest for solo showstoppers.
You can also join the hunt for Captain Jack Marrow’s missing skeleton crew, a treasure hunt that turns up plenty of tricks and treats along the way, along with spooky photo ops perfect for capturing the night.
Start planning your look now, because the crew that goes all out is the crew that walks away with bragging rights.

A Pirate Movie Under the Stars
Once darkness falls, settle in beneath the stars for an outdoor screening of Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, a PG-13 adventure running two hours and 23 minutes.
Captain Jack Sparrow washes into Port Royal without a ship or crew, right as the town comes under siege by a pirate ship whose undead crew is bound by a curse.
When the governor’s daughter is kidnapped, a blacksmith in love with her teams up with Sparrow to chase the pirates down, all set against the historic naval aircraft, the glittering San Diego skyline, and a few pirates who may have forgotten to return to Davy Jones’ Locker.
It’s the kind of only-in-San-Diego setting that makes this movie night one of a kind. Bring a blanket, grab a spot on deck, and let the swashbuckling adventure unfold under the open sky.

Snacks, Treats, and a Bounty of Fun
Festive food and beverages will be available for purchase throughout the night, along with sweet treats to keep everyone fueled between dancing, treasure hunting, and costume judging.
Fright Deck is designed for all ages, so bring the whole crew for a Halloween experience you won’t find anywhere else in the city.
