Noel Noel Returns to The Rady Shell for Three Nights of Holiday Magic
San Diego Symphony’s beloved holiday tradition is back, and this year it comes with a mystery. Noel Noel returns outdoors to The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park for three performances, featuring favorite songs, Christmas classics, sing-alongs, and a storyline that adds something fresh to the annual celebration.
The Mystery Unfolds
Something’s wrong in San Diego this holiday season: Santa’s letters have disappeared. With Christmas approaching and no messages arriving from local children, Noel, the North Pole Postal Division’s supervisor elf, finds herself racing to solve the mystery before time runs out.
It’s the kind of narrative hook that keeps kids engaged while adults enjoy the music.

World-Class Talent
Guest conductor Christopher Dragon leads the San Diego Symphony Orchestra alongside director Jonathan Gilmer, with vocalist Devin DeSantis and Lena Palke as Noel the Elf.
Ken Johnson makes a special appearance, and the production includes the San Diego Master Chorale, San Diego Children’s Choir, and San Diego Musical Theatre Academy.
Mike Tutaj handles projection design, and Amanda Zieve brings the lighting design.
The Rady Shell Experience
There’s something about holiday music outdoors at The Rady Shell that just works. The waterfront setting, the open air, the way the sound carries across the bay – it creates atmosphere that indoor venues can’t match.
December evenings get chilly, so dress warmly, but that’s part of what makes it memorable.
With three performance times across three nights, you can choose what works best for your schedule. Just know that this tradition sells well year after year, so don’t wait on it.
