The nation’s only seaside track is thrilled to welcome racegoers back to the Del Mar racetrack for an exciting summer season.

Beginning on Saturday, July 20—the first time on a weekend since the 1950s—with incredible Opening Weekend celebrations, the 2024 summer racing season will run through September 8.

But there is much more to the racing season than just the races! Check out the festivities and events below:

Opening Day at Del Mar | July 20

There’s race day… and then there’s Opening Day!

Saturday, July 20, marks the start of an exhilarating season featuring the best in racing, fashion, food, and culture. Attracting thousands of locals and visitors alike, the West Coast tradition will feature fan-favorite events like the Hats Contest, the return of the Opening Day Party, and the official After Pony Party.

Opening Day will have limited attendance to enhance the fan experience, but festivities continue throughout Opening Weekend, with racing and events set for Sunday.

Other Del Mar Racing Happenings

Del Mar Beer Festival | July 21, 1 PM–5 PM

Beer Fest returns to the racetrack! The Del Mar Beer Festival is an exclusive ticketed event where +50 local and regional brews, ciders, and seltzers are available to sample trackside.

Plus, you can pair your brews with a variety of gourmet food available for purchase, dance to live DJs, and more! Tickets for 21+ start at $38.

Free & Easy Thursday

Every Thursday starting July 28, Diamond Club members can enjoy this exclusive perk at the racetrack! Receive free Stretch Run admission, a free program, a free seat, plus 40% off 16 oz. Michelob Ultra, Brandt Beef hot dogs, and sodas at concession stands.

Friday Happy Hour

Summer sippin’ at Del Mar never tasted so good! Beginning July 26, enjoy Friday Happy Hour and receive half off all Del Mar’s signature drinks until two hours after the first post. This offer excludes Turf Club restaurant & bar.

Turf Club Fridays

Every Friday starting July 26, kick off the weekend at the exclusive Turf Club—an ordinarily members-only area. Tickets include one Turf Club admission, Turf Club tickets, two drinks tickets (premium cocktails, wine, or beer), and the appetizer buffet.

Tickets are $125 per person. Make sure to review the website for dress code details.

Taste of the Turf Club 

Every Sunday, starting July 21, enjoy a culinary experience at the Turf Club. Tickets include a three-course brunch, a reserved Turf Club table for the race day, bottomless Bloody Marys or mimosas, and general parking. Tickets are $150 per person. Tables seat four. Daybreak at Del Mar

Starting July 21, early risers can enjoy breakfast on Saturdays and Sundays from 7:30 AM to 9 AM. You’ll be treated to complimentary coffee, see morning workouts from the open-air table seating, and gain insider insights from horsewoman and racing broadcaster Michelle Yu.

Admission is not required, and parking is free.
