‘OzoKidz’ Is Bringing A Family-Friendly Performance To Music Box
‘Ozokidz’ is an unclassifiable band of Latino-hip-hop-reggae-rockers known for their kinetically feel-good performance style.
After roughly 18 years of singing about gang violence, immigration and other R-rated issues, drummer Mario suggested that they do a kids’ album. At the same time all this was happening, PBS hit them up to write five songs for their PBS kids commercials. And just after that, they were commissioned to write music for “Happy Feet Two: The Videogame.”
Ozo then created “Ozokidz,” turning their rhyming skills to kid-friendly topics such as the importance of taking care of trees and avoiding germs, as well as skateboards, spelling and even a crazy tune about a moose run amok.
