Four Powerhouse Music Groups Find Their New Home at The Conrad
La Jolla Music Society just made a move that’s going to shake up San Diego‘s classical music scene in the best possible way, and it involves four powerhouse music groups finding their new artistic home.
The Conrad Prebys Performing Arts Center is now hosting the newly launched Resident Companies program, bringing Art of Elan, Bach Collegium San Diego, Camarada, and Mainly Mozart under one roof for a three-year residency starting this winter.

The Dream Team Lineup
We’re talking about some serious musical talent here: Art of Elan, Bach Collegium San Diego, Camarada, and Mainly Mozart. Each of these groups has spent years building distinctive voices in chamber and classical music, and now they’ll have a world-class venue to call home.
What we love about this partnership is how it creates a true cultural hub. Instead of these incredible organizations competing for performance spaces, they’re now collaborating under the umbrella of one of San Diego’s most acoustically stunning venues.
Why This Matters
The Conrad Prebys Performing Arts Center was literally built for this kind of music—from the acoustic brilliance of The Baker-Baum Concert Hall to the flexible energy of The JAI. LJMS Artistic Director Leah Rosenthal puts it perfectly when she talks about highlighting “the intimacy and expressive power of chamber music.”
This isn’t just about giving these groups a place to perform. The resident companies get marketing support, early access to booking, and fixed rental rates for three years. It’s the kind of thoughtful partnership that makes a real difference for artists trying to focus on what they do best.
What We’re Getting
Mainly Mozart brings their All-Star Orchestra featuring the nation’s leading concertmasters and principal players. Camarada celebrates 30 years of vibrant chamber music experiences. Bach Collegium San Diego specializes in historically informed performances that bring centuries-old music to life. Art of Elan has been building community through innovative programming for almost two decades.
The “rising tides lift all boats” philosophy that President and CEO Todd Schultz mentions? We’re already seeing it work. Instead of four separate organizations fighting for attention, we now have a powerhouse collective that’s going to put San Diego’s chamber music scene on the national map.

See You There!
These powerhouse music groups have found their perfect match at The Conrad, and we can’t wait to experience the magic.
