Mark the Summer Solstice With a Night of Art and Jazz at Liberty Station

The Summer Solstice lands on a Saturday this year, and Ten Six Pines is marking the moment with something you won’t find on a typical weekend out.

RITUAL:SOLSTICE transforms The Chapel at Liberty Station into a fully immersive environment of light, sound, and movement – a one-night-only experience built for people who want to feel something.

A Space Completely Transformed

Ten Six Pines – the San Diego-based light and sound artists behind the acclaimed City Lights installation at Quartyard – are bringing their sculptural light environments into The Chapel’s storied 1940s performance space.

Think original light installations layered with ambient sound design, all inside a beautifully restored chapel at Liberty Station. The space itself does a lot of the work, and Ten Six Pines knows exactly how to use it.

Live Performance From Start to Finish

RITUAL:SOLSTICE isn’t a static exhibit. The evening features a live jazz performance from Riva alongside live choreography by Beth Guerrette & company, all woven into the immersive environment rather than presented separately from it

Cocktails by Snake Oil

Snake Oil Cocktail Co. is bringing their craft cocktail program to the event, rounding out the sensory experience from the moment you walk in. If you’ve had Snake Oil’s work before, you already know they don’t just phone it in – their presence here is part of what makes RITUAL:SOLSTICE a fully realized evening rather than just an art show with a bar.

This is a limited-capacity event. RITUAL:SOLSTICE follows Ten Six Pines’ previous RITUAL:ELEMENTS event – which earned coverage from San Diego Magazine, KPBS Arts, and the San Diego Union-Tribune – so the audience for this work is real and the tickets will go. Advance pricing is $35, with door tickets at $45 if any remain.
