Have Fun on Theme Nights
Theme nights and special events always have and always will be a staple of Rooftop Cinema Club and the new lineup through September 2 is no different. As evidenced by Bob Marley: One Love, music is a popular draw atop the Rooftop and as such, July has been dubbed “Music Month.”
Throughout July, RCC will feature films with hit soundtracks, iconic music moments, and legendary artists. Music Month films in the queue include Selena, Mamma Mia!, Almost Famous, and Dirty Dancing, along with sing-along nights featuring Bohemian Rhapsody, Grease, and The Greatest Showman.
To celebrate Music Month, on July 18 Rooftop Cinema Club is saddling up for the Nouveau Rodeo takeover and throwing a country-themed Movie Night & Silent Disco featuring the one-and-only Coyote Ugly.
And in its own ode to the popular country-inspired saloon chain, RCC is bringing in a live DJ following the film for a Nouveau Rodeo-inspired set featuring genre-defying hits, country pop hits from the film, and other top hits for you to dance the night away to.
The Class of ’99 Reunion
Fast forward to August and Rooftop Cinema Club will tap into “Reunion Season” with a celebration of the “Class of 1999,” featuring popular films that debuted in cinemas in 1999. The pre-turn-of-the-century reunion season lineup showcases films that include:
- Drop Dead Gorgeous
- The Sixth Sense
- She’s All That
- 10 Things I Hate About You
- Cruel Intentions
And what’s Reunion Season without a party?! So Rooftop Cinema Club is hosting one on August 15 centered around Paul Weitz’s 25-year-old box office hit, American Pie.
