RCC Embarcadero: Your Holiday Season Destination for Fireside Films and Festive Fun
Rooftop Cinema Club Embarcadero at the Manchester Grand Hyatt has announced its December slate, and if you’re looking for something to do this holiday season beyond just the usual San Diego activities, this lineup delivers.
We’re talking Fireside Films, holiday classics like Elf, Home Alone, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, The Polar Express, Die Hard, and It’s a Wonderful Life, plus special events including drag shows, silent discos, DIY cookie decorating, character meet-and-greets, and pet-friendly screenings.

The December Lineup
Beyond just showing movies, Rooftop Cinema Club has queued up an eclectic mix of special events.
There’s a mini-marathon featuring The Office, nearly 40 films with both English and Spanish soundtracks, a Movie Night and Drag Show on December 7 featuring How the Grinch Stole Christmas, a Silent Disco celebrating Taylor Swift’s birthday on December 11, a “Girls Gone Mild” Holiday Party with DIY watercolor cookie decorating before a December 14 screening of The Holiday, an Elf meet-and-greet on December 20, and a “Wooftop” pet-friendly meet-and-greet with Santa before a December 21 matinee featuring The Grinch.
Christmas Eve features a twin-bill (separate admission required) – a mid-afternoon Wooftop screening of Elf followed by Home Alone. The day after Christmas has a trio of films lined up for a relaxing evening: 10 Things I Hate About You, La La Land, and The Dark Knight. New Year’s Eve under the stars offers Fireside Films with The Greatest Showman, The Proposal, and When Harry Met Sally.
Thanksgiving Weekend Kickoff
Before December even starts, Rooftop Cinema Club has a great Thanksgiving Weekend lineup. It kicks off with a Friends Friendsgiving mini-marathon on November 25 at 7 PM. Post-Thanksgiving weekend includes Pulp Fiction, a Jack Skellington meet-and-greet ahead of a Saturday matinee featuring The Nightmare Before Christmas, and National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation.
Fireside Films Explained
Fireside Films is a first-of-its-kind amenity located in Rooftop Cinema Club’s prime seating section, featuring two-person loveseats with dedicated wood-burning heaters. It’s available for all films and special events starting from 5 PM on, and each Fireside Films ticket comes with complimentary hot chocolate.

The Setting
Rooftop Cinema Club Embarcadero sits on the open-air 4th Floor Sport Terrace of the Harbor Tower at the Manchester Grand Hyatt with stunning skyline views. Watching movies outdoors on a rooftop with downtown and bay views, wood-burning heaters keeping you warm, and hot chocolate in hand creates the kind of experience that justifies the ticket price.
