Sip Your Way Through Sails & Ales Beer Fest at Kona Kai

Sails & Ales Beer Fest is back for its sixth year, and this time it’s bringing sunset views, local brews, and a whole lot more to Kona Kai San Diego’s marina-front backdrop.

If a good afternoon by the water is your thing, this one’s hard to top. Grab your friends and clear your weekend, because this is one you won’t want to skip.

Beer, Wine, and Spirits by the Bay

This one’s built around unlimited tastings from 25+ local breweries, wineries, and spirits vendors, including names like Karl Strauss Brewing, Mike Hess Brewing, Coronado Brewing Company, Ketch Brewing, Pure Project, Cutwater, Ballast Point, and Eppig.

Whether you’re a craft beer regular or just here to try something new, there’s plenty to sip your way through over the course of the afternoon. With a lineup this deep, you’ll want to pace yourself so you can make it through the whole list.

Bites, Beats, and Mini Golf

Beyond the pours, expect chef-curated bites and on-site food trucks (available for an additional cost), a live DJ keeping the energy up, and beachfront mini golf if you need a break between tastings.

It’s the kind of afternoon where the drinks are the draw, but the extras make you want to stay all day. Bring a group and you’ve basically got a built-in beach day with better drinks.

Supporting the Coast, One Sip at a Time

Tickets are $75 per person, 21 and up, and a portion of the proceeds benefits the Surfrider Foundation San Diego, so your afternoon of tastings is also doing some good for the coast you’re drinking next to.

It’s a nice reminder that a good time and a good cause don’t have to be separate things.
