Experience Filipino Culture Up Close at SamaFest 2026

Samahan Arts is bringing back its 39th Annual Philippine Cultural Arts Festival, and this year it’s going big: a full two days of Filipino food, culture, and entertainment right in the heart of Balboa Park!

Thirty-nine years in and this thing just keeps getting better. It’s still the biggest cultural celebration on San Diego’s calendar, and it’s not slowing down anytime soon.

SamaFest 2026 Philippine Cultural Arts Festival in Balboa Park

Filipino Culture Takes Over the Park

SamaFest is taking over the President’s Way Lawn for a weekend packed with music, dance, art, and everything else that makes Filipino culture so worth celebrating.

Best part? It’s free, open to everyone, and totally family-friendly, so whether you’re reconnecting with your roots or just curious to soak it all in, come on through.

Bring the whole family, because seriously, there’s something here for everyone. For two days straight, this corner of Balboa Park turns into a full-blown celebration of Filipino heritage.

Pack a Blanket and Bring Your Appetite

Grab a lawn chair, a picnic blanket, or honestly just bring your whole crew, and get ready to settle in for a day of entertainment, Filipino delicacies, and some serious shopping.

Local small businesses will be vending all weekend, so you can browse, snack, and support the community all at once.

Between the performances and the food, this is the kind of event where you’ll want to clear your whole day. Come hungry, because the food alone makes the trip worth it.

Ways to Be Part of the Festival

Run a business? Samahan Arts is still taking vendor applications, though heads up: all hot food vendor spots are filled, so new applicants will land on the waitlist.

Performer and volunteer applications are dropping soon, so keep an eye out if you want to be part of the action yourself. And if your business is looking to get involved through a partnership or sponsorship, just shoot them an email or DM.

It’s a great way to get plugged into the community behind the festival, not just the festival itself.

See you there!

Come for the food, stay for the culture, and celebrate a community that’s been putting this festival on for nearly four decades.
