Hop to It, San Diego! Beer Week is Back and Better Than Ever

Our favorite sudsy celebration, San Diego Beer Week, is rolling back into town this fall. This 10-day extravaganza (because seven days just aren’t enough for our beer-loving city) is about to remind everyone why we’re called The Capital of Craft.

The Main Event: Capital of Craft Beerfest

The highlight of Beer Week is undoubtedly the Capital of Craft Beerfest, and it’s going to be epic. We’re talking:

  • 30+ local breweries showing off their hoppiest creations
  • Unlimited tastings (yes, you read that right)
  • Food trucks to keep you fueled
  • Live music, including Los Tortugas (featuring Karl Strauss’ own brewmaster!)
  • A people’s choice award for the best hoppy beer

Early bird tickets are available, but they’ll jump in price as we get closer to the event. VIP tickets (with an extra hour of tasting) are available for the true beer aficionados among us. And if you’re one of the first 100 to snag a ticket, you’ll get a sweet San Diego Brewers Guild floppy hat. Click here to purchase.

Not Just One Day of Fun

Throughout Beer Week, local breweries will be hosting special events and offering beer deals. Keep an eye on the Brewers Guild’s calendar for all the hoppy happenings.

Collab Brews and Neighborhood Clean-Ups

What’s better than one brewery? Six breweries working together! This year’s Capital of Craft IPA is a collaboration between Fall Brewing Company, Black Plague Brewing, BLAH Brewing, Hodad’s Brewing, Hopnonymous Brewing, and Ketch Brewing. Look for it on draft and in cans at Guild member breweries.

And because we love our city as much as we love our beer, the Guild on the Streets series is back with a twist. This year, they’re organizing neighborhood clean-ups, culminating in a North Park spruce-up. Start at Black Plague and end at Seek Beer Co.—with a well-deserved pint, of course!

So, whether you’re a hophead or just someone who appreciates a good pint, San Diego Beer Week has something for everyone.

Why San Diego is Beer Heaven

Need a reminder of why our city is the beer capital? We snagged 14 medals at the 2024 World Beer Cup, including three golds. And with over 150 craft brewery locations, we’ve got more than any other county in the US. Not too shabby, San Diego!

SDBW by San Diego Brewers Guild

See you there!

San Diego Beer Week runs from November 1 to 10, with events happening all across the county. The Capital of Craft Beerfest takes place on November 9 at Kilowatt Brewing in Kearny Mesa. Early birds can get in from 1 PM to 4 PM, while VIPs start the party at noon.

The week kicks off with a virtual toast on November 1 at 7:30 PM. Join in from your favorite brewery, and don’t forget to hashtag your posts with #SDBeer, #SDBeerWeek, and #SDBW.

It’s ten days of celebrating what makes our city great—community, creativity, and really, really good beer. San Diego Beer Week is our chance to show the world why we’re the Capital of Craft. Cheers to that!

See you there, San Diego!
