San Diego LGBT Community Center Celebrates 50 Years Of Building Community Power
On October 14, The San Diego LGBT Community Center will celebrate 50 years of making an impact on and creating safe spaces for LGBTQ+ people in the San Diego region.
The Center’s 50th Anniversary Gala will be held at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront, an event that will include a cocktail reception, dinner, a drag show with DJ Taj Altaji, and live music by Sue Palmer and her Motel Swing Orchestra.
The event, open to members of the media, not only celebrates how far The Center and the local LGBTQ+ community have come, it also invites all to imagine what the next 50 years will bring. To this end, long-time supporters of the organization will be invited at this night’s gala to pay it forward to the next generation by making a legacy gift.
The Gala offers a chance for supporters of the organization to see how, through their support, they and The San Diego LGBT Community Center can join forces to create a world where everyone belongs and thrives, regardless of background, sexuality or gender identity.
