Catch the Soul of Santana at Spreckels Organ Pavilion
Carlos Santana has one of the most recognizable sounds in music – that warm, singing guitar tone layered over rolling Latin percussion and a groove that cuts across generations.
From his breakthrough at Woodstock to the Grammy-sweeping Supernatural, he built a catalog that feels equally at home at an outdoor summer festival and in a late-night playlist. SantanaWays brings that sound to life right here in San Diego, and Spreckels Organ Pavilion is the perfect stage for it.
An Outdoor Evening of Latin Rock in Balboa Park
There’s something special about catching live music at the Spreckels Organ Pavilion – the open-air setting in the heart of Balboa Park, the summer breeze, the energy of a crowd gathered under the sky. Add the iconic sounds of Carlos Santana’s music to that mix, and you’ve got an evening that’s hard to pass up.
SantanaWays brings their tribute to one of San Diego’s most distinctive outdoor stages, channeling the full power of Santana’s sound – singing lead guitar, layered Latin percussion, and that groove that gets us all moving.
From Abraxas to Supernatural
Santana’s catalog spans decades, and SantanaWays covers the highlights. Expect Latin-rock classics from the Abraxas era – “Black Magic Woman,” “Oye Como Va,” “Evil Ways” – alongside the crossover hits that introduced Santana to a whole new generation, like “Smooth” and “Maria Maria” from Supernatural.
This is the kind of music that sounds best live. The interplay between lead guitar and the percussion section, the energy that builds as each familiar intro hits – it all comes together in a way that recordings can’t quite capture.
