This Saturday, about a dozen schooners are expected to compete. Some of the West Coast’s most beautiful traditional vessels will hoist their gleaming white sails. The regatta draws West Coast schooners of all size and vintages. They race on a course designed to make it easy for the public to watch the start and finish.
About the Californian
Californian is a replica of the 1847 Revenue Cutter C.W. Lawrence, which patrolled the coast of California enforcing federal law during the gold rush. It is also the official tall ship of the state and popular on-the-water adventure attraction among locals and visitors to San Diego.
Don’t miss the chance to chill out on a nice beach while watching this amazing race hosted by the Silver Gate Yacht Club Foundation. See you there!
