Susan G. Komen San Diego Hosts Inaugural Impact Luncheon to Support Breast Cancer Care
The fight against breast cancer takes center stage at the inaugural Impact Luncheon, hosted by Susan G. Komen San Diego at Mister A’s.
This powerful event, led by Sam and Kelly Zien (Sam the Cooking Guy), will bring together survivors, advocates, and supporters to raise awareness and funds for lifesaving breast cancer care.

Breaking Barriers to Treatment
Every 12 minutes, a woman in the U.S. dies from breast cancer—a staggering reality made worse by the fact that as many as 30% of these deaths could be prevented with timely, high-quality care.
Breast cancer carries the highest financial burden of any cancer, often forcing patients to choose between treatment and basic necessities.
With over 200,000 patients in the U.S. living below the poverty line, Susan G. Komen’s Patient Care Center is working to eliminate financial and logistical barriers.
Through no-cost, telehealth-based navigation services, Komen ensures that every patient—including those with metastatic breast cancer—receives the treatment, guidance, and support they need.
The Power of Support
Komen’s program has already made a lasting impact:
✅ 16% reduction in patient distress
✅ 91% of patients reported improved quality of life
✅ 84% said it reduced barriers to care
✅ 87% gained quicker access to treatment
