Susan G. Komen San Diego’s Impact Luncheon Celebrates Survivors and Progress
Susan G. Komen San Diego is hosting its annual Impact Luncheon, bringing together survivors, advocates, medical leaders, and community partners for an afternoon that celebrates hope, progress, and the collective power driving change in the fight against breast cancer.
Proceeds support Komen San Diego’s Patient Care Center, which provides free, personalized navigation and critical resources to patients and families throughout every step of their breast cancer journey.

A Powerful Lineup of Speakers
This year’s luncheon features four speakers whose personal experiences and professional leadership reflect different dimensions of breast cancer impact – from survivorship and advocacy to innovation in care and research.
Alexis Klimpl was diagnosed with stage II triple-positive breast cancer at just 24. The San Diego-based publicist and storyteller navigated fertility preservation, months of chemotherapy, and a bilateral mastectomy while continuing to advocate for herself and others.
Now in remission, she uses her voice to uplift young patients, raise awareness around early diagnosis, and help others facing cancer feel seen, supported, and less alone.

Krystia Rae is a breast cancer survivor and founder of Lavande Vitality House, where she blends integrative wellness practices with ancient healing modalities to support vitality, alignment, and long-term wellbeing.
As a transformational speaker, she shares a perspective rooted in wholeness, resilience, and living fully – during and beyond survivorship.

Abby Kim, PharmD, BCOP, is a board-certified oncology pharmacist and Senior Director of Clinical Strategy and Oncology Specialty Solutions at Prime Therapeutics. She previously worked in a dedicated breast cancer clinic, supporting patients through every stage of treatment.
Her work reflects a deep commitment to advancing cancer care through innovation, collaboration, and improved patient outcomes.

Dr. Rebecca Shatsky is a nationally recognized breast medical oncologist and clinical trials leader at UC San Diego Health Moores Cancer Center. As director of multiple breast cancer programs, including those focused on young women and aggressive subtypes, her work bridges cutting-edge research with compassionate care.
Dr. Shatsky’s leadership continues to shape how breast cancer is treated today while advancing the future of precision medicine.

Supporting the Patient Care Center
The Patient Care Center provides free, personalized navigation and critical resources to patients and families throughout every step of their breast cancer journey.
Proceeds from the luncheon directly support this work, which makes a tangible difference for people who need guidance, resources, and support when they’re navigating one of the most challenging experiences of their lives.
