Little Italy is Your Dinner Table for the Night – and it’s One You Won’t Want to Leave
Some evenings are worth planning around, and Taste of Little Italy ranks among the better ones on San Diego’s calendar. This is the kind of event that does the work for you – no reservations to juggle, no back-and-forth over where to eat next.
Just a two-night celebration of one of the city’s best dining neighborhoods, where the only real decision is which direction to head first. Whether you’re a Little Italy regular or someone who’s been meaning to explore the area more, this is a great excuse to finally do it right.

A Neighborhood, a Passport, and 20+ Stops
The format is as good as it sounds: pick up your Taste Passport at Piazza della Famiglia and spend the evening wandering 48 square blocks of one of San Diego’s most celebrated dining neighborhoods.
With more than 20 restaurants participating each night, we get to sample our way through Little Italy’s food scene without the logistics of planning a progressive dinner ourselves – just show up and eat.
Who’s Pouring and Plating
The lineup brings together some of the neighborhood’s most established names alongside a few newer spots.
- Lala – Shareable plates and handcrafted cocktails in a lively setting. The kind of stop that makes it hard to move on to the next one.
- Puerto La Boca – Authentic Argentinian cuisine done right, with empanadas, grilled meats, and desserts that hold their own.
- Slice House – Artisan pizzas made from fresh ingredients and a few distinct dough styles that set each slice apart.
- Underbelly – Rich, inventive ramen that fits right in with the neighborhood’s diverse food scene.
- Pali Wine Co. – California wines poured in a relaxed tasting room format, making it a natural place to slow down for a bit.
- Coco Maya – Bold coastal flavors with a tropical edge that keep the evening interesting right to the end.

A Few Things to Know
Tickets are $70.50 per person and availability is limited – this event has a track record of selling out before the dates arrive. The good news is that Taste of Little Italy runs two consecutive evenings, so there’s some built-in flexibility if one night works better than the other.
