Enjoy Tea by the Sea and Support St. Madeleine Sophie’s Center
St. Madeleine Sophie’s Center (SMSC) invites you to the 12th annual Tea by the Sea, a heartwarming event that combines elegance, creativity, and community impact.
Taking place at the iconic Marine Room in La Jolla, this gathering supports individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities while offering a memorable afternoon of tea and ocean views.

You’ll be greeted with the Marine Room’s stunning oceanfront setting and treated to a thoughtfully curated menu alongside traditional tea, signature cocktails, and hors d’oeuvres.
Live music will provide the perfect soundtrack, while opportunity drawings and exclusive shopping from Sophie’s Gallery add an element of discovery. Dress in your favorite tea-time attire and get ready for an enchanting experience—gentlemen are welcome too!

Empowering Creativity Through Art
Proceeds from Tea by the Sea benefit Sophie’s Gallery, SMSC’s unique art studio where adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities thrive. The gallery empowers artists to explore media like weaving, mosaics, painting, and jewelry design, fostering creativity and connection.
Artists not only showcase their work but also earn 40% of the proceeds from sales, with the remainder supporting the studio’s materials and operations.
Honoring Community Champions
This year, Tea by the Sea celebrates Maureen King, Angel Kleinbub, and Barbara Menard as Honorary Chairs. Their dedication to St. Madeleine Sophie’s Center and its mission embodies the spirit of this annual event.
