Give A Dog Its Furever Home This Weekend At DOGust At Little Italy Dog Park

TrustedHousesitters, the largest and most trusted pet care community of its kind, is hosting a #PawtyInThePark DOGust event at the Little Italy Dog Park this Saturday. DOGust, August 1, is traditionally known as the universal birthday for all shelter dogs, and what better way to celebrate than helping shelter pets find their furever home?

Attendees of the event will get to meet adoptable dogs from local dog rescue, The Animal Pad, receive a complimentary dog caricature from local artist, PoisonousMe; face painting by Art by Wendy and Debbo; special frozen treats from Paw Pleasers; and be entered to win some awesome prizes including memberships to TrustedHousesitters, branded bandanas, t-shirts and gift cards! DogsOfInstagram will also be posting live from the event and featuring local pups on their page.

“We’re so excited to partner with the Little Italy Dog Park again for an incredible celebration!” said Angela Laws, award-winning community manager of TrustedHousesitters and fellow pet sitter. “After sponsoring an additional fence in the dog park and hosting an inaugural celebration last month, we just knew this is where we wanted to have our #PawtyInThePark DOGust celebration as well!”

“Pets are an important part of our families, and we love being able to celebrate them all at our event! It’s so important for us to help pups find their furever homes, and we’re hoping some will find theirs at our event as well. Although this a celebration in honor of rescue pups and their birthday, we welcome all pups and their parents to join in the celebration.”

“Partnering with a brand who knows the importance of community and giving back as TrustedHousesitters does is absolutely invaluable to us at @dogsofinstagram,” said Emily Bergquist, Social Community Manager for @dogsofinstagram. “We are so thrilled to be working with TrustedHousesitters to promote adoptable dogs and celebrate rescue pups during the #PawtyInThePark DOGust celebration in the best dog park in San Diego!”

Little Italy is home to over 2,000 pups, many of them rescue pets, and its historic dog park is a must-visit for all pet owners. The park is a safe and enclosed space for dogs to play freely and meet up with the other neighborhood dogs. It also offers shade-filled places for pet owners to sit, including community-sponsored benches and a well-maintained surface.

Amenities at the dog park include incredible coffee from Caffè Caritàzza, the Batta | Fulkerson Small Dog Park and water fountain to quench your pups’ thirst after a long afternoon playing with their friends at the Gordie “Handsome Prince” Howe Lawn that keeps the pups’ paws cool and is odor resistant thanks to ForeverLawn.
