Sip, Stroll, and Shop Local Art in University Heights
The best way to see new art in San Diego right now doesn’t involve a gallery at all. It involves Park Blvd, a drink in your hand, and about three hours to kill.
University Heights is handing its storefronts over to independent local artists, makers, and creators for one evening. Seven neighborhood businesses, all within a few blocks of each other, each with someone new showing work inside.

Start on Kairoa’s Rooftop, Then Head Down Park Blvd
Kairoa Brewing Co. anchors the night as the main food and drink stop, hosting local makers and pouring fresh craft brews on the rooftop. It’s the easiest place to start, and the easiest place to circle back to later.
From there, the route runs along Park Blvd and Adams Ave. There’s no set order and no schedule to keep, so walk it in whatever direction your first drink points you.
Seven Stops, Each With its Own Artist
Full Circle Tattoo is putting its in-house resident artists front and center, which is a rare chance to see that work outside of skin. Hifi Art Co. is opening its space to the work of Aidan Monahan, and Good Omen Coffee Co. is pairing specialty coffee with a showcase from Moss Of Mind.
Whit at Home hosts independent creator Kelsey Diaz, Cecilia brings in the art of Jeffrey Taylor, and Park Blvd Liquor & Deli joins in as a stroll stop of its own. Bring a tote bag. You’ll want one.
The Artist Roster is Still Filling in
Organizers are still adding names, with the specific artists showing at each location going up as the date gets closer. If you want to know exactly who’s where before you commit to a route, check the info page on your way out the door.
Either way, the format does the work for you. Meet your neighbors, buy something directly from the person who made it, and get a drink without ever moving your car.
See you there!
Grab a friend, start on the rooftop, and let the rest of the evening happen one storefront at a time. This is University Heights at its most walkable.
