Westfield UTC and Plaza Bonita to Host the Westfield Good Festival

Westfield UTC will host its first Westfield Good Festival, an annual event that brings together retailers, partner brands, and local stakeholders who are making positive steps to support the environment.

Originating with Westfield centers in Europe in 2023, the Westfield Good Festival aims to inspire and support consumers who want to live more sustainably and give back to their communities.

San Diegans will be able to participate across the county with activations at both Westfield UTC and Westfield Plaza Bonita.

Experience the First-Ever Westfield Good Festival

From April 25 to 28, you can participate in a mix of sustainability-themed experiences, including a “Shop the Swap” event in collaboration with Makenzie Lowe of The Good Loop.

In addition, eco-friendly brands will take the Main Stage in Palm Plaza or invite you into their stores for additional activations. Highlights from the Westfield UTC event lineup are below, with the full schedule available here.

The Good Loop

Founded by fellow San Diegan and philanthropist Makenzie Lowe, The Good Loop embodies a revolutionized and inclusive approach to sustainable fashion, where individuals across a vibrant community can come together to embrace a more eco-conscious approach to shopping and help close the clothing loop.

Join Westfield UTC and The Good Loop from April 25 to 28 and bring up to 10 gently loved fashion pieces to swap and replace with new-to-you finds. Connect with fellow swappers, chat about sustainable fashion, and enjoy a live DJ, surprise treats, and exclusive offers from your favorite eco-friendly brands throughout the event!

Any remaining clothing at the close of the weekend will be donated to the San Diego-based Alpha Project. Pre-registration to shop the free swap event is required. For more details on accepted clothing items, FAQs, and to RSVP, please visit here.

A Meaningful Experience Awaits

Ryan Perry, Senior General Manager at Westfield UTC, said: “The Westfield Good Festival will have something meaningful for everyone in the San Diego community to experience while giving our retailers and partners the opportunity to showcase their environment-friendly initiatives.

“Not only does this activation allow us to celebrate and spotlight those impacting change at the local level, but it also gives us the opportunity to be a catalyst for positive change amongst our visitors, neighbors, and larger brand partners.”

In addition to Westfield UTC, you can also head to the South Bay on Saturday, April 27 from 11 AM to 3 PM for a build-your-own succulent event with Westfield Plaza Bonita, where you’ll participate in a planting craft and decorate your own terracotta pots for take home.

USAgain Clothing boxes will also be set up to bring in used clothing items for donation. For more information on the event with Westfield Plaza Bonita, please visit here.
