“‘Tis the season for catchy tunes, and there are few bands that have produced more memorable and enduring hits than the Village People,” said Mayor Kevin Faulconer. “We’re excited to welcome the Village People to December Nights for a festive and family-friendly performance during the largest free community festival in San Diego.”
Balboa Park December Nights is San Diego’s kick off to the holiday season. This year, the event takes place for the 42nd year on Friday, December 6 and Saturday, December 7. The annual event features something for everyone…lights, music, carolers, choirs, bands and food, food and more food throughout Balboa Park. Visit decembernights.org for more information.
“Village People are very excited at the opportunity to perform our Christmas show during December Nights,” said Victor Willis, original lead singer. “Attendees can expect to hear holiday favorites and all the Village People hits. And course, we’ll all do the Y.M.C.A. dance.”
Village People, one of the most iconic groups in the world, are celebrating their 40″ anniversary. The group has sold over 100 million records worldwide and has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. They remain a major attraction and consistently perform to sold-out audiences worldwide.
