Coastal Roots Farm Film & Music Series Presents “Women’s Work”

Coastal Roots Farm—a nonprofit, organic community farm and education center inspired by Jewish values in Encinitas—continues their 2024 Farm Film & Music Series, designed to bring community together around shared values to protect people and our planet.

Women’s Work: The Untold Story of America’s Female Farmers

The series’ third film and outdoor event will take place on Thursday, July 18, and will host the premiere of the documentary Women’s Work: The Untold Story of America’s Female Farmers.

This compelling film shines a light on the often overlooked contributions of women in agriculture, offering a timely and uniquely matrilineal perspective on America’s farming history.

Through a rich tapestry of stories and locations, ‘Women’s Work’ celebrates the achievements of both historical and contemporary female farmers.

The film features insightful interviews with farmers, rural experts, and historians showcasing the diverse backgrounds, locations, and agricultural practices of women across the nation.

Farm Film and Music Series Dates

  • July 18: Doors open at 6:30 PM
  • August 22: Doors open at 6 PM
  • September 19:  Doors open at 5 PM

Before the films, there will be live music, mingling, and a chance to speak with local organizations and individuals from the community. 

Bring your own picnic blankets, lawn chairs, food, and drinks to enjoy an inspiring evening on the Farm!
