FWSD’s Designers Take The Stage In First Ever Virtual Runway Show
Fashion Week San Diego’s first-ever virtual runway show is taking place on Saturday, October 17, and tickets are now on sale for $40 – the cheapest ticket prices the biannual event has offered! FWSD guests will have the opportunity to tune in to a live broadcast of the FWSD 2020 Runway shows from the comfort of their own home – don’t forget to BYO pj’s and cocktails!
Viewers will not only get to enjoy a digital front row ticket to the runway, but they’ll also get to join FWSD team members for an exclusive backstage pass and get a firsthand look at the designs for this year’s show. FWSD 2020 will be hosted by meteorologist Jodi Kodesh.
This year’s designers are all debuting a 10 piece never before seen collection on the runway:
Bea Cruz, PH
Bea Cruz PH is a bespoke pret-a-couture startup brand from a small province, Negros Occidental in the Philippines. She creates finely-made pieces with dramatic flair and timeless femininity. Dressed up a few local personalities from photoshoots to red carpets, this 22-year-old designer has an eye for going bold and daring, not just with fashion pieces but with life too!
Gloria
Gloria pieces are unique and designed with excellent quality. Their intention is to create jewels that last in your wardrobe for years and even pass through to different generations. Since fashion is the third most polluted industry in the world, Gloria is committed to making unique garments using materials that are environmentally friendly.
Kelly Leanne Apparel Designs (KLA)
The brand focuses on designing one-of-a-kind pieces with a story that people emotionally connect to on an individual level by combining elements of fashion technology (i.e. glowing fabrics) with textiles that have a story of their own.
L Label Loves Emvee Bikini
L Label Loves Emvee Bikini started off as two girls finding the magic in an irresistible, cohesive partnership, but became two women learning the empowering notion that 1+1 does not become 2, but becomes 11. A friendship turned into a foundation, where they learned that women who support women have a unique way of bolstering success.
Latelier Couture by Olivia Romero
Latelier Couture by Olivia Romero is created 100% by hand with the joy of life in mind. Each piece uses bright colors that reflect the enthusiasm, optimism, and beauty of life. Designer Olivia Romero has always had a passion for sewing and fabrics. Transforming a dress or simple garment fills her with satisfaction and pride.
Reform
Reform products embody the expression of deconstructing and reconstructing clothing items. Discarded wedding dresses and leftover fabrics can be transformed into a new look and could become ready-to-wear dresses. Reform is a 100% handmade small fashion brand.
Scheherazade
The garments feature eclectic materials such as colorful suede, textured fabrics, cashmere, trim details, and charming fairy tale and artistic silk prints. This collection is dedicated to all those who love beauty, wisdom, art history, literary arts, folk tales, Ethnic prints, and allegories from around the globe.
VaughnBerry
Simple, rustic, and meticulously handcrafted details combined with unique techniques in construction, evoke luxury in the menswear of VaughnBerry. Versatile silhouettes bring an androgynous style and uniqueness to fashion. A perfect gentleman needs to feel stoic, empowered, and enlightened all while showing no sense of fear.
WVSH
Based out of San Diego, CA, WVSH has a signature oversized fit for urban west coast leisure. Synchronized with a touch of utilitarian surplus style from a military background, WVSH is forged from exaggerated bold prints and basic garments re-conceptualized in new cuts and silhouettes.
