Frozen Fairgrounds at Del Mar Has The First Full-Size Outdoor Ice Hockey Rink In The History Of San Diego

Yup, you read that right… The first full-size hockey rink in San Diego history opens this weekend at the Frozen Fairgrounds.

Frozen Fairgrounds features two ice rinks, including a 7,200 -square-foot community ice rink and an NHL-regulation size ice hockey rink.

The Community Rink is the largest holiday ice skating rink in San Diego and is open to the public for free skating and hockey skills challenges as well.

If you are a parent of someone that loves to skate, they have you covered too. You can grab an adult beverage and put your feet up in the lounge area which is a pretty nice option if you ask us when it comes to watching hockey in 70-degree weather!

On Saturday the Fairgrounds will host the Hero’s Cup with teams from the police department, fire department, and military all coming together for a must-see tournament.

Whether you play ice hockey, figure skate or just love to skate during the holidays, Frozen Fairgrounds at Del Mar has enough ice for everyone and will be open from Dec 16th – 31st so be sure to check it out.

See you there!
