Birch Aquarium Opens Normally-Closed Pier For Exclusive Moonlit Tours!

The Ellen Browning Scripps Memorial Pier is normally closed to the public, but the Birch Aquarium is opening it select nights this summer for exclusive moonlit tours!

Picture you and your date (or your gal pals… your kids… really, this is perfect for everyone) strolling one of La Jolla’s most prominent landmarks on a warm night lit by a full moon…

Sounds pretty dreamy!

The pier is normally reserved for use by scientists, students, and Birch Aquarium staff for a variety of research projects. It also serves as a platform to collect local marine life and deploy small boats and oceanographic instruments.
