Gelson’s And Little Cakes Kitchen Launched Fundraising Campaign To Support Carlsbad Education Foundation

Gelson’s and two-time winner of Food Network’s Cupcake Wars ,Little Cakes Kitchen, are teaming up for a month-long cupcake campaign to raise money for the Carlsbad Educational Foundation. Geared towards supporting the success of Carlsbad’s students, 50% of the proceeds from sales of the Little Cakes floral cupcakes four-pack purchased at Gelson’s in Carlsbad will be gifted to the Carlsbad Education Foundation.

A family-owned bakery based out of Vista with an in-house bakery at Gelson’s in Carlsbad and Del Mar, Little Cakes Kitchen features eclectic cupcakes baked from scratch using the finest ingredients. Parents, teachers, students and area residents can stop by the Carlsbad Gelson’s, located at 7660 El Camino Real, from October 22 through November 22 to purchase four-packs of Little Cake’s Floral Cupcakes featuring two each of their award-winning chocolate and vanilla cupcakes topped with Italian vanilla buttercream frosting.

“We have always made it a point to support the success of students in the communities we serve,” said Gelson’s Chief Merchandising Officer John Bagan. “The pandemic has had a profound impact on our education system and the funding needs to support student learning and programming, especially in distance learning environments, are greater than ever. We can think of no better way to put smiles on faces and raise money for a worthy cause than with a locally-made sweet treat.”

About the Carlsbad Educational Foundation

The Carlsbad Educational Foundation (CEF) is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that was founded in 1983, to raise private support for public education and contribute to the enrichment of nearly 11,000 students in the Carlsbad Unified School District. Since its inception, the foundation has contributed more than $10 million in funds to Carlsbad public schools, primarily for science, technology, and music – programs that would not be possible in California’s current school funding environment. 100% of donations go directly to support the Carlsbad Unified School District because CEF’s operating expenses are covered by student enrichment programs and Kids Care, a comprehensive before and after-school K-5 childcare program.
