Double the Deliciousness: Irv’s Burgers and Prince St. Pizza Land in Pacific Beach

Iconic California-born burger spot Irv’s Burgers and famed New York City pizza shop Prince St. Pizza are opening the doors of their newest adjacent locations in Pacific Beach!

This expansion to PB marks San Diego‘s first Irv’s Burgers location and second Prince St. Pizza location following the slice shop’s Gaslamp Quarter opening in 2023.

Irv’s Burgers and Prince St. Pizza Offer Classic Favorites

The new eateries are just steps from the beach and feature standing counters and indoor-outdoor seating, with delicious on-the-go and late-night food options.

Irv’s Burgers will offer its signature dishes that established it as a beloved burger joint, including the famous Irv’s Double and Just For You cheeseburgers, as well as the Irv’s Dog, tuna melt, chili cheese fries, soft-serve milkshakes, and savory breakfast burritos and sandwiches.

Prince St. Pizza will serve its legendary, Sicilian-style square slices, original Neapolitan pizzas featuring
handcrafted signature sauces, New York cheese, and daily handmade dough made with a specialized water filtration system that replicates the superior quality and taste of New York water.

“We’re thrilled to bring the East Coast and West Coast together in one spot, opening these two beloved bicoastal restaurants side-by-side,” said Lawrence Longo, owner and CEO of Irv’s Burgers and Prince St. Pizza.

“We look forward to joining the Pacific Beach community and sharing the unique flavors that have made Irv’s Burgers and Prince St. Pizza top culinary destinations. This is an exciting step forward, and we can’t wait for San Diego to taste what we’ve been cooking up!”

Irv’s Burgers

Irv’s Burgers opened in 1946 as Queen’s Burgers, one of the first burger stands on Route 66. As the shop grew in popularity over the decades, its name changed to Irv’s Burgers, and a cultural icon was born.

Its mouth-watering California roadside-style cheeseburgers cemented the brand as a force in Hollywood pop culture, as the stand drew in the likes of Frank Sinatra and The Rat Pack, Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix, and Janis Joplin and was most notably featured on Linda Ronstadt’s album cover, “Living in the USA.”

Prince St. Pizza

Prince St. Pizza opened its flagship New York City location in 2012, using handcrafted recipes that had been in the founding family for generations. The shop quickly rose to fame, revered for its signature sauces made from the highest-quality ingredients and iconic fluffy dough molded from scratch daily.

Today, the shop menu honors its New York City roots with several menu offerings named after streets near its flagship Nolita location, including:

  • Mercer Margherita with original pizza sauce, fresh garlic, fresh mozzarella, pecorino romano, extra virgin olive oil, and fresh basil
  • Prince Perfection with marinara sauce, fresh mozzarella, and pecorino romano

You’re Invited to a Joint Grand Opening Block Party!
