A New England native, Chef Hamilton plans to integrate San Diego’s abundant local produce and fresh seafood into his love for New England cuisine while mixing it up with a few other elevated comfort foods with a twist. The menu will include items like Lobster Mac and Cheese made with gruyere and orecchiette cheeses, Smoked Chicken Wings rubbed in Jamaican jerk and orange mojo, The OG Lobster Roll crafted New England style and Bucatini & Burrata Crab tossed with corn, heirloom tomato, pea shoots, anchovy and fried bread crumbs.

“I am thrilled to join the team at JSix and Kimpton Solamar Hotel,” said Executive Chef Steve Hamilton. “I want to continue elevating JSix and Upper East Bar’s reputation as a go-to spot for happy hour or dinner before a night out downtown, with a creative spin on food and drinks. I can’t wait to showcase new dishes that feature fresh coastal cuisine, while also infusing East Coast ingredients that I love.”
