‘Tis the Season to Shop Local @ The Local Holiday Bazaar!

Shop Local!

This recently-hot term is more than a buzzword here in San Diego. It’s a way of life! In fact, it’s becoming almost impossible not to shop local.

From specialty breweries, coffee roasters, distilleries and designers, to artists, pop-ups and more – these days you can hardly grab an item off a shelf or order at a restaurant without some part of it being local.

And HELLO! No complaints here!

San Diego has proven to approach artists and craftsmen the same way it approaches life: colorfully, thoughtfully and with a signature sense of community.

Which is exactly the spirit that inspired an incredible pop-up concept – The Local Holiday Bazaar – happening December 4th at San Diego’s very own Liberty Station.

At this event you’ll find a thoughtfully curated group of San Diego artisans gathered for a can’t miss, holiday-shopping experience. And even better – it’s packed with enough fun to bring the whole family in tow!

Where Should We Start?

First things first – if you’re gonna shop local, you gotta drink local. And there’s no better place to do it than at the Tap Truck. At this clever concept you’ll find freshly-poured brews from the back of vintage trucks equipped with built-in draft systems.

After you’ve gotten your drink, it’s time to get shopping! Only question is who’s first on your list…

For the Clotheshorse

Whether shopping for your best friend with the best duds, or having a little “gift for me” moment, the Bazaar is brimming with some seriously cute sartorial vendors.

Raiscase will be there, brimming with messengers, totes, clutches, and more to up your bag game. Spearheaded by owner Julie Rais Ellis, this brand is creating goods with an instinct for practicality and a serious eye for design.

(Inside tip- We’ve heard rumblings of a not-to-be-missed product giveaway with them taking place prior to the event, so be sure to follow @theresandiego,@thelocalbazaar, and @raiscase for more details!)

While you’re working on completing that ensemble, head on over to Stroll. This adorable Little Italy boutique has no shortage of trendy wares from clothing to jewelry and more.

Or you could also embrace your inner yogi with Dhanika active-wear, mats and blankets.

Shop Sky Haven will also be there with glorious offering of clothes, accessories, and candles.

For the Hostess with the Mostest

Speaking of candles, the epitome of the gifting go-to; the Bazaar has a bounty of options to light up your home this home season. Pop by Craft + Foster for one of their ginger and clove, or mistletoe candles.Aura Candles  will also be there, and just so happen to offer a “cozy” scent. Finally, swing over to La Petite Bouteille for one of their all-natural soy candles in vessels made from recycled wine bottles.

To further up the cozy ante, Blaze and Wander will be selling their beyond-gorgeous, textured relax blankets. Good luck not leaving with one for yourself.

No one turns down a beautiful bouquet. For a perfectly fresh holiday arrangement, Seven Stems has you covered with blooms sure to elevate any table situation.

For Fun with the Fam

If by this time your crew wants a break from shopping, they can snap photos in kids’ and adults’ photo booths – or collaborate on making some fun DIY holiday wrapping paper with Mint Studio. Seven Stems will also be providing a station to make flower crowns, and more! Talk about the perfect accessory to wear in your Snapchats (custom filters provided, of course!).

For the Foodie

Naturally, this wouldn’t be a gathering of all things local and artisanal without a bounty of edible goods.

Modern Times has you covered on coffee, and to complete a perfect gifting pair, head over to David Bacco and Nibbles for all things chocolate.

On the hunt for something a little more off the culinary grid? Check out Pacifica Culinariafor artisanal olive oils, avocado oils, vinegars, and more specialty items. Hot but Sweet Relishes will also be there for stocking your pantry (or stockings!).

For the Humanitarian

First on our list is Tillage Clothing! They’re making waves with ultra-comfy, wrinkle-free pants and their initiative to combat human trafficking.

Then, stop by YOUME clothing for a tee or sweatshirt, where they’re “turning rags into resources.” They provide new school uniforms and clothing to children in developing countries in exchange for their oldest, most worn garments. Then, they re-purpose the returns into fabulous YOUME products for sale.

Talk about feel-good purchases!

For the Littles

This family-friendly affair is sure to keep the little ones fully-in on all the fun. For the quintessentially San Diego kiddo, stop by Feather 4 Arrow. You’ll have a hard time not picking up a teeny-tiny cacti or “Good Vibe Tribe,” tee.

While you’re at it, you might as well get that little one something special to snuggle. Perhaps a precious handmade blanket from Ruffles and Beaux (I’ll take an adult-sized please!).

For the Dudes

The Local Holiday Bazaar hasn’t forgotten the special gentleman in your life, either! Do you know someone with a beard that just won’t quit (in a good way, of course?) Then pick up some beard oil at Whiscare, or go all-out with a seriously stunning shave set from Creations By Will.

Now that you’ve made the rounds, and undoubtedly filled your tote bags to the brim with goods, why not head back to Tap Truck for a refill, and go over that shopping list one last time?

Feeling accomplished, you’ll make your way home to hang freshly-made wreaths, wrap special somethings in your lovingly-made DIY wrapping paper, and probably light that new candle you picked up for yourself.

There’s nothing quite as nice as a sweet holiday shopping haul. Merry season to you, and great gifting for all!
