Monster Energy Supercross Enters Fifth Decade Of Competition In San Diego This 2020

The 17-race Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship, will bring the most competitive and highest-profile motorcycle racing championship in the world to Petco Park on Saturday, February 8, for the sixth round of the 2020 season.

This year, the sport of supercross will enter its fifth decade of high-flying, heart-pounding excitement in San Diego, thrilling fans in “America’s Finest City” dating all the way back to 1980. This annual sporting spectacle will draw tens of thousands of passionate supporters from all around California’s southernmost county, where they’ll cheer on these uniquely talented athletes as they navigate a one-of-a-kind, jump-filled layout that covers every inch of the Petco Park floor.

The world’s most uniquely talented racing athletes of Monster Energy Supercross

As the world’s pre-eminent off-road motorcycle racing championship, Monster Energy Supercross is the ultimate showcase of man and machine, and this year all eyes will be on the most talented collection of riders ever assembled. Led by reigning 450SX Class Champion, Cooper Webb, these competitors will lay it all on the line in their quest for victory, doing whatever it takes to capture the checkered flag in San Diego, and hopefully inch one step closer to potentially being crowned World Champion at season’s end.

Last season, Monster Energy Kawasaki rider, Eli Tomac, emerged triumphant inside Petco Park, and he will look to successfully defend that victory as he continues his quest for a first career title alongside a star-studded international lineup that includes German sensation Ken Roczen, Australian legend Chad Reed, former San Diego resident Jason Anderson, and rising star Adam Cianciarulo.

With the first month of action completed, the 2020 season has already been one of the most captivating in recent memory, with incredibly unpredictable results through this early portion of the year. A variety of winners have already claimed victory this season, setting the stage for an action-packed and drama-filled night of action inside Petco Park, which will also serve as the championship’s Southern California finale.

The Fanfest Experience

This year’s FanFest experience will provide fans with the most immersive Monster Energy Supercross environment ever created, with a hands-on, festival-like atmosphere that provides fans of all ages with an exclusive backstage pass to the inner workings of the sport.

The multi-acre footprint opens at 12 Noon on race day, and features something for everyone with experiential activations, autograph sessions, a Supercross Virtual Reality experience, and more. To top it all off, fans also have in-and-out access to the track to watch the afternoon practice and qualifying sessions if they so choose.

See you there!
