Local Celebrity Chefs Partner With Mr. Trustee To Celebrate National Ice Cream Day With Local Flavors

Enjoying an ice cream cone on a hot summer day is a treat that puts a smile on faces of all ages.  And with National Ice Cream Day coming up this Sunday, July 19, Mission Hills’ newest scoop shop Mr. Trustee Creamery figured it’s time to celebrate big to put smiles on the faces of as many San Diegans as possible in the days leading up to it!

Local Celebrity Chefs Rally To Support Neighborhood Ice Cream Shop Opened During The Pandemic

Featuring Flavors from Local Celebrity Chefs!

Mr. Trustee’s Executive Pastry Chef, Jeremy Harville, is partnering with local celebrity chefs to celebrate an American classic and help support the scoop shop that just opened in May in the midst of the pandemic. A full schedule with details is available below:

Thursday, July 16

Friday, July 17

Callie Restaurant’s (opening soon) Chef Travis Swikard Special Flavor Release – Halvah White Chocolate/ Chocolate Chip: A Middle Eastern sesame paste candy

Saturday, July 18

CH Project’s Chef Jason McLeod Special Flavor Release -Mudslide with Nutella

Sunday, July 19

Top Chef Star Claudette Zepeda Special Flavor Release – Oaxacan Kiss (Carrot Ice Cream, Rum Raisin Cajeta Swirl, Coconut, Candied Pineapple)

They also added a charity component to National Ice Cream Day. $1 per sale on Sunday, July 19, will be donated to Ice Cream for Change, a platform of ice cream lovers and makers advocating for social change and civic action.

Opening during a pandemic isn’t easy for any business! Show them the love this week and head over for a scoop, swirl, or pint (or several) to celebrate National Ice Cream Day!

Scooping hours are Monday through Thursday from 4:00pm to 9:00pm and Friday through Sunday from 12:00pm to 9:00pm. Guests can also currently find Mr. Trustee ice cream at sibling restaurants Trust, Fort Oak and Cardellino.
