Books & Records Launches New Orleans Style Jazz Brunch
One of our favorite new restaurants of the last year, Bankers Hill’s neighborhood restaurant, Books & Records, is starting off the year with the all-new launch of a New Orleans-style jazz brunch!
Neighborhood Favorite
Every neighborhood should have its ‘favorites’ – the restaurants and bars you can count on for a comfortable vibe and expectation that you’ll probably see a familiar face or two when you’re there. That’s Books & Records in Bankers Hill, which makes it the perfect place for a long Sunday brunch.
New Orleans Style Jazz Brunch
Highlights of the new menu, crafted by Chef Sam Deckman, include:
- Scallop Po’ Boy Minis with diver scallop, chipotle aioli, tomato, and arugula
- Banana Bread Pudding Bites with crème diplomat
- Duck Chilaquiles with corn tostadas, salsa verde, lime crema, pickled onion, avocado, and sunny egg
- Turkish Eggs with house labneh, za’atar, sumac, lemon, poached eggs, chili crunch, and charred baguette
- Breakfast Gnocchi with maitakes, peas, everything seasoning, and a poached egg
Cocktail standouts by Beverage Director Chris D’Apice, intended to perfectly complement the brunch offerings, include the Sunday Morning with rye whiskey, scotch, maple syrup, and house bitters, Coffee + TV with vodka, coffee liqueur, orange liqueur, smoked vanilla syrup, and espresso and the Cranberry Beret with gin, housemade cranberry syrup, prosecco, and lemon.
