Padres Pitcher Joe Musgrove Teams Up With Puesto to Support Rescue Dogs

Taco ’bout a good cause! Puesto launched a new Tijuana-inspired taco to their menu, crafted by San Diego Padres pitcher Joe Musgrove and Puesto’s culinary director, Erik Aronow.

The collaboration combines Musgrove’s love for authentic Mexican cuisine with his passion for giving back to the community. Proceeds from “Joe’s Adobada” taco will be donated to The Animal Pad, a cause close to Musgrove’s heart, as it is where he rescued his beloved dog, Theo.

Culinary Homage of Tijuana

The Tijuana-inspired taco, available for a limited time at all San Diego Puesto locations, is a culinary homage to the vibrant flavors of Tijuana. Crafted with the finest locally sourced ingredients and inspired by traditional recipes, this taco promises to be a tasty treat for food enthusiasts and baseball fans alike.

“I’ve always been a huge fan of Puesto and their dedication to authentic Mexican cuisine,” said Joe Musgrove.

Supporting Animal Rescue Efforts

“This partnership is a fantastic way to share my love for Tijuana’s food culture while supporting a cause that means a lot to me. The Animal Pad does incredible work rescuing and rehabilitating dogs in need, and I’m thrilled that proceeds from our special taco will help them continue their mission.”

The Animal Pad, based in San Diego, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to rescuing dogs from high-risk situations and finding them loving homes. The foundation’s work aligns perfectly with Musgrove’s values, as he has been an advocate for animal rescue and adoption.

“When Joe adopted Theo, we were over the moon that another one of our beloved puppies would be finding an amazing forever home, but we never could have imagined how impactful this specific match would be.”

Impact of the Taco Collaboration

“Theo and Joe have helped open so many eyes and hearts to adoption,” said Lauren Botticelli, The Animal Pad’s Executive Director.

“Theo is proof that you can find your best friend and save a life at the same time. We are forever grateful to Joe for not only loving Theo, but for being an ambassador and supporter of The Animal Pad, always. We are beyond excited for this partnership. Tacos AND rescue dogs… does it get any better?!”
