Puffer Malarkey Collective To Reopen Restaurants Starting June 19th

Puffer Malarkey Collective is thrilled to reopen their restaurants. Herb & Sea will open Friday, June 19, followed by Herb & Wood on July 8, and Animae on July 22.

All dining rooms will be reconfigured to meet the new guidelines, and menus will be available to view on patron’s phones via a QR code located at each table. Staff will undergo training on the new operating protocols mandated by state and government and new hospitality standards that will ensure the dining experience is as safe as possible, while preserving PMC’s service expectations and dining room ambiance. A selection of menu items will also be made available for takeout at nightly at each restaurant and can be ordered via the websites.

Herb & Sea

Opens Friday, June 19th
131 D Street, Encinitas
Wednesday to Sunday, 5:00 – 9:00 p.m.

After opening in 2019, Herb & Sea quickly became Encinitas’ buzziest neighborhood restaurant, with lines forming at the door nightly before dinner service and full dining rooms until the night they closed. The restaurant is excited to welcome back the neighborhood on Friday, June 19, serving dinner starting at 5:00 p.m. every Wednesday through Sunday. Executive Chef Sara Harris’ menu includes classic Chef Malarkey dishes like the Roasted Baby Carrots and Whole Branzino, and a few of the restaurant’s greatest hits including Hamachi Crudo, and Roasted Oysters & Bone Marrow.

Herb & Wood

Opens July 8th
2210 Kettner Blvd, Little Italy
Wednesday & Thursday, 5:00 – 9:00 p.m., Friday to Sunday, 5:00 p.m. to close

The Little Italy dining room, which celebrated its 4th anniversary this April amidst the pandemic, shines back to life on Monday, July 8. Guests will enjoy all the favorites from Herb & Wood’s kitchen they’ve been missing, including the Oxtail Gnocchi (Chef Beau MacMillan called this the best dish he ever ate), Roasted Half Chicken, and Blistered Tomato & Burrata. Herb & Wood’s expansive dining room and covered patio will allow for plenty of social distancing, but reservations are not required, but are recommended as seating will be limited to abide by the rules. Herb & Eatery will remain closed while the team focuses on Herb & Wood’s reopening.

Animae

Opens July 22nd
969 Pacific Hwy, Marina District
Tuesday to Thursday, 5:00 – 9:00 p.m., Friday and Saturday, 5:00 to close

San Diego’s most glamorous dining room returns with its seductive atmosphere and innovative cuisine. The jewel-toned booths and ceiling length curtains invite diners to forget about quarantine and revel in a bit of normalcy. Diners will enjoy their favorite dishes from the original coal-fired, Asian-inspired menu, alongside a new Wagyu beef program, and a lighter and brighter summer menu. A newly revamped cocktail menu features a more approachable, playful take on ANIMAE’s spirits program. Nima Café will remain closed for the time being.

Stay healthy, San Diego!
