New special events!

Special events are a popular staple of Rooftop Cinema Club and there are several new additions with families in mind, including Popcorn and Pajamas, Teen Thursdays and Kids Club, which all make their debuts in November.

Details on all special events are below.

Popcorn and Pajamas – Nov. 7, 14, 21 & 28
Films: Frozen, Harry Potter & The Sorcerer’s Stone, Elf, How the Grinch Stole Christmas

Rooftop Cinema Club can’t think of a better way for guests to experience morning movies than in their favorite, comfiest PJs, so on Sundays in November, they’ll open the Rooftop early for screenings of some winter holiday favorites. Pajamas are optional, but highly encouraged!

Kids Club – Nov. 6, 13, 20 & 27
Films: Paw Patrol: The Movie, Toy Story 4, The Polar Express

Every Saturday in November, RCC Embarcadero will host crafts for kids during early morning screenings. Just in time for the holidays, crafts will include ornaments, snowflakes and more!

Bingo Night – Nov. 4, 11 & 18
Films: 10 Things I Hate About You, People’s Choice: Leonardo DiCaprio, The Notebook

Do you love bingo as much as you love movies? If so, you are in luck! Every Thursday in November, join Rooftop Cinema Club for some fun with Bingo at prime screenings. Every week, they’ll have a new themed Bingo board that features quotes from the film, so be sure to follow along. It’s free to play and there will be prizes for the top 3 winners!

“Teen Thursdays” – Nov. 4 & 18
Films: 10 Things I Hate About You, The Notebook

Rooftop Cinema Club is not like a regular Rooftop, it’s a cool Rooftop, so on Thursday Nov. 4 and 18, teen moviegoers 13-and-older are invited to attend the prime screening featuring popular coming-of-age flicks. Every teen who shows a valid junior high or high school ID at the concession stand will receive a free box of candy. And for parents, RCC suggests checking out the film’s rating before making plans as ratings will vary.

Wes Anderson Double-Bill – Nov. 7
Films: The Grand Budapest Hotel, The Royal Tenenbaums

RCC Embarcadero is showcasing Wes Anderson with a double-bill of his films in honor of his newest eccentric creation, The French Dispatch, finally hitting the big screen. RCC will screen two of his greatest ensemble films: the melancholy, but hilarious The Royal Tenenbaums and his whimsical look at 1930s Europe in The Grand Budapest Hotel.

For guests who would like to attend both screenings, they may purchase their ticket for the first screening and then click HERE to fill out a short form and receive a 25% off discount code for the second screening. Tickets for The Royal Tenenbaums and The Grand Budapest Hotel must be purchased separately.

Open-Caption Screenings – Nov. 5, 13 & 28
Films: Shrek, Forrest Gump, Home Alone

Rooftop Cinema Club’s open-caption screenings are open to all movie lovers and feature captions throughout the film to make the event accessible for guests who are deaf and hard-of-hearing.

Sing-Along – Nov. 14
Film: Grease

There’s no better way to enjoy one of America’s favorite movie musicals than by singing along with the characters on screen! Rooftop Cinema Club is handing off the mic so guests can belt out their favorite hits from Grease during this interactive, sing-along experience!

Wooftop Cinema Club – Nov. 7 & 21
Films: Cruella, The Grinch

Rooftop Cinema Club’s dog-friendly “Wooftop” screenings are back and RCC is inviting its furry friends to the Rooftop. Guests are responsible for cleaning up after their dogs, and all dogs must be kept on their leashes at all times. A special relief area also will be provided at the venue.

People’s Choice Night featuring a Leonardo DiCaprio classic – Nov. 11
Film: TBD

Leonardo DiCaprio seems to have already completed multiple careers. From a teen heartthrob to an indie leading man to a highly acclaimed, Oscar-winning actor – he’s done it all! On the night of his birthday, RCC Embarcadero is letting its guests decide which of this acting genius’ films it should screen. RCC fans can vote for the Leo movie they’d like to see at the Rooftop HERE. Voting closes November 1 and the winning film will be announced Nov. 2.

See you there!

Rooftop Cinema Club is located at the Manchester Grand Hyatt (1 Market Place, San Diego, 92101) on the open-air 4th Floor Sport Terrace of the Harbor Tower with stunning skyline views. Doors and movie start times vary so guests are advised to check the schedule.

Opening early allows guests plenty of time to select their first-come-first-serve seats and enjoy the “Social Cinema” aspect of Rooftop Cinema Club, which includes amazing views, classic table games, and fantastic food and drink. And once the films begin, moviegoers will find themselves immersed in their favorite movie moments through high-fidelity personal headphones and a crystal-clear picture on their famous LED big screen.
