Safe Lot Parking Program At Flower Hill Helps Feed Homeless While Supporting Local Restaurants
Instead of their infamous Holiday events that draw crowds of thousands of people, Flower Hill have decided to give back to the San Diego community while helping their restaurants survive through this pandemic by participating in the Safe Lot Parking program.
The Safe Lot Parking program
The Safe Lot Parking program is a cause near & dear to their hearts as it provides meals for people experiencing homelessness sometimes for the first time and living out of their cars. College students, veterans, and families are among the recipients of the hot meals.
Nicole Ludwig, Asset Manager at Flower Hill, says, “As part of our charitable giving campaign Flower Hill wanted to do something that not only benefited the many homeless families in San Diego but also help our local restaurants who have been struggling during this pandemic, forced to shut down and lay off many employees.
Flower Hill kicked off the initiative on Giving Tuesday and has raised over $20,000 already. The money raised will go directly to their restaurants, and then the meals delivered directly to the Safe Parking Lots.
Wholefoods at Flower Hill has also donated enough soft drinks to be delivered every evening throughout the initiative.
