We have so many great taco stands in this amazing city we call home; it would be a shame not to try all of them.

So, in honor of not having to get our Mexican fix from a fast food chain, here’s a list of some truly incredible joints that are the #RealDeal.

Add them to your list and get out of your normal Taco Tuesday routine!

1. The Taco Stand

Known as making “the best tacos of all times” according to many patrons, The Taco Stand is a place not to be missed. The atmosphere is fun and the prices seriously can’t be beat.

Tip: get the Carne Asada Fries. Life changing.

Location: 621 Pearl St, La Jolla, San Diego, CA 92037

2. Galaxy Taco

Galaxy Taco is serious about their food, and we appreciate it! ‘Comer Awesome’ means the freshest ingredients, boldly delicious flavors and the craft of Mexican cuisine. It means being obsessed with the details and nailing it every time. Make sure this is on your list!

Location: 2259 Avenida De La Playa, La Jolla, CA 92037

3. The Fish Shop Encinitas

This place is great. Not quite hole-in-the-wall prices, but the food is fresh and amazing. Have anything with fish – it won’t disappoint!

Sit in the sun out on the patio, have a beer, and enjoy the Encinitas scenery.

Location: 1010 S Coast Highway 101, Encinitas, CA 92024

4. Puesto Mexican Street Food

Authentic Mexican dining at its finest. Enjoy yummy cocktails and an amazing taco selection (including, but not limited to, lamb and filet mignon). Oh, and they have plenty of vegetarian options, too!

Location: 789 W Harbor Dr, San Diego, CA 92101

5. Sara’s Mexican Food

Hole-in-the-wall doesn’t even begin to describe this place. It’s just a window between two bars, and your only seating option is a 4-person bench outside.

But the food is damn good. Trust us…just go.

Location: 2907 Mission Boulevard, San Diego, CA 92109

6. Super Cocina

This place is as authentic as it gets! Some say you can’t get more authentic unless you cross the border. We say “just go.”

Location: 3627 University Avenue, San Diego, CA

7. La Playa Taco Shop

This is a hole-in-the-wall place (you won’t find them all over Instagram…or even a website for that matter), but don’t turn your nose up. The tacos are absolutely to die for.

This is one of those places that is absolutely amazing for take-out – so get your binge show of choice ready and prepare to dive yourself into a taco-induced coma.

Location: 3973 Mission Blvd, San Diego, CA
