St. Patrick’s Day 2021 Celebrations And Specials Around San Diego

We could all use a little luck of the Irish right now! While the parties won’t be the same as years past, and the annual St. Patrick’s Day parade is canceled for the second year in a row, there are still some opportunities to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in San Diego this year, or at least enjoy a tasty, traditional Irish meal (you know…like the Irish Car Bomb sundae at Waterbar!) to mark the occasion and toast to a better year ahead!

Here’s a list of celebrations and specials around San Diego:

The Field

Yes, there are still some Irish pubs open to help you celebrate your St. Patrick’s day with a proper pint! Some of them aren’t the easiest to get ahold of – nor are they very active on social media – so do your best to call well in advance to see what they have going on. But The Field is open for business in the Gaslamp! And we’d image that The Ould Sod’s patio would be an option as well.

The Irish Julep: St. Paddy's Day Pop Up

The Irish Julep: St. Paddy’s Day Pop Up

The Irish Julep is a St. Patrick’s Day-themed pop-up dinner taking place at JULEP venue located at the base of Mission Hills (we can’t wait!). Come hungry and ready to enjoy a live performance and to enjoy a uniquely San Diego Celtic dining experience. Experience live music coordinated by McFarlane Promotions, craft cocktails by Snake Oil Cocktail Co. and a distinctly Irish retail experience curated by To Be Designed.

With plenty of outdoor, and socially distanced seating, Mavericks will also have a live band playing from 6PM – 8PM.

barleymash

The Gaslamp’s beloved barleymash will be treating diners and drinkers to a specialty St. Pat’s Day dish this year! On Saturday, March 13th, they’re serving up a McBarley Reuben – housemade corner beef, green apple sauerkraut, Swiss cheese, and 1000 Island Dressing on marble rye bread with fries. Enjoy with a Dew + Brew, a shot of Tullamore Dew and green Coors Light. The Rueben will also be available on St. Patrick’s Day, along with an Irish Whiskey Tasting Flight featuring Cider Finish, Rum Finish, The 12 Yr, Legendary Tully and a Snit of Stout.

The Presley

The Presley, one of Liberty Station’s newest additions, is reigning in their first St. Patrick’s Day by inviting guests to keep the celebration going all weekend long, by indulging in a festive cocktail or two. Get in the spirit with the restaurant’s signature P’s Bee’s Knees, a refreshing cocktail that boasts a festive green hue. Made with Hendrick’s gin, simple syrup, cucumber, fresh lime juice, mint the P’s Bee’s Knees is the ideal way to get in your greens in honor of St. Patrick’s Day, and their big beautiful patio is the perfect place to celebrate with some fresh air and social distancing!
