Surfin’ Santa Returns To Seaport Village & More Holidays By The Bay

With the holiday season right around the corner, get ready for upcoming events and family-friendly activations happening at Seaport Village, including the much-anticipated return of “Surfin’ Santa!”

Saturday | November 27th | 1 – 5PM

Named one of the ten best Santa sightings by USA Today, Surfin’ Santa will break out his boardshorts and favorite Hawaiian shirt to visit Seaport Village on Saturday, November 27th!  Accompanied by an official Harbor Police watercade, Surfin’ Santa will cruise-in from the San Diego Bay, kicking-off a jubilant procession down the Embarcadero boardwalk—complete with pop carolers, stilt walkers, elves and toy soldiers.

Following the parade, Surfin’ Santa will pose for complimentary photos from his lifeguard tower. Attendees can also expect live music, costumed entertainment, and DIY photo ops on Santa’s life-size surfboard prop.

Saturday| December 11th | 9 – 11AM

Surfin’ Santa will return to Seaport Village on Saturday, December 11th for a morning of merriment at Samburgers! The ticketed event includes meet-and-greets with Surfin’ Santa, breakfast and bevies from Sam ‘The Cooking Guy’ Zion, family-friendly performances, goodie bags and more. Priced at $25 per person, reservations are available for groups of 2 to 6. More information and tickets can be found here.

Tuesday, November 30th | 5:30–7:30PM

In partnership with Chabad of Downtown San Diego, Seaport Village’s annual menorah lighting invites the community to join in commemorating the third night of Hanukkah on Tuesday, November 30th. The magical, family-friendly festivities will be complete with music, donuts & dreidels, and the traditional lighting of the menorah.

Photos with Santa
Capture the magic of the holiday season in a photo with Seaport’s resident Santa Claus. Beginning November 13th, families can stop by Santa’s Workshop, located next to Geppetto’s, to strike a pose with jolly Kris Kringle. Cost is $40 for a flash drive with captured photos. Santa’s schedule can be found here; no appointment necessary.

San Diego Bay Parade of Lights
Sundays, December 12th, 5:30PM | Sunday, December 19th, 5:30PM
Presented by the Port of San Diego, the 50th annual San Diego Bay Parade of Lights promises to entertain crowds during its two evenings on December 12th and December 19th. Spectators are welcome to enjoy the show from Seaport Village’s prime location. Dozens of boats will cruise by with dazzling light displays, following this year’s theme — “The Twelve Days of Christmas.”

Décor Galore!
Seaport Village is decking the halls with flurry holiday décor—from twinkling light tunnels, a towering surfboard tree, festive chalk art and more. Partnering with Old Town Trolley’s Holiday Lights & Sights Tour, Seaport Village will be must-see pitstop amid the sing-along excursion. More information and tickets can be found here.
